Vehicle: Subaru Impreza S4 Rally (Up to 2000cc 4WD) Track: Powys, Wales Surface: Gravel (Dry Medium Gravel) Driving Style: Balanced & Precise (Great braking, acceleration, and turn-in) After a full 7-stage run on the demanding Powys forest stages, I've finalized this setup for the Subaru Impreza S4 Rally. Built for Dry Medium Gravel, this tune focuses on keeping the car settled and predictable through tight, tree-lined Welsh roads while still offering sharp turn-in and confident braking. The viscous differentials (no LSD locks to dial in) are tuned to push traction to the rear axle on exit, and the rear toe has been relaxed from earlier testing to stop the car "self-correcting" toward straight-ahead under lift-off. The result is a planted yet agile package that feels precise in the hands and easy to place.

Key Characteristics: 1.Alignment: A relaxed Rear Toe-in of +0.20° (down from +0.40° in V1) acts as a gentle geometric stabilizer. It keeps the rear planted during high-speed lift-off without the earlier "self-straightening" push, while still letting the car pivot in tight hairpins. Front camber sits at -1.38° with a slight -0.20° front toe for crisp turn-in. 2.Differential: Viscous front/centre/rear set to 20 / 14 / 22 kgf-m/100rpm. With no LSD locks available on this car, the rear viscosity is kept highest to maximize exit traction, while the centre stays relatively free for smooth rotation. 3.Suspension & Damping: The rear Anti-Roll Bar is kept compliant at 8.62 N/mm to preserve rear-axle independence over medium-gravel bumps. Damping is firm but balanced — Front Slow/Fast Bump +4 with Slow Rebound +4, Rear +3 across the board, and a 0.84 mps bump-zone split — controlling pitch and keeping both axles planted through compressions. 4.Brakes: A 59% front bias lets you aggressively trail-brake to rotate the car into corners, backed by a braking force of 3,216 N-m tuned for dry, hard-packed gravel. 5.Gearing: A Final Drive of 0.240 keeps the flat-four in its powerband, covering both the tight technical sections and the faster forest straights without running out of revs. 6.Best For: Drivers wanting a predictable, confidence-inspiring car that stays stable under braking and lift-off, with sharp, precise turn-in — ideal for the flowing yet technical Powys stages. 7.Pro-Tip: If the rear ever feels a touch heavy or sluggish to rotate through tight, stop-and-go sections, try a smoother, more momentum-based line and keep a sliver of throttle on entry to maintain drivetrain load. Should that sensation persist across multiple stages, the first lever to revisit would be the rear Anti-Roll Bar (8.62 → slightly softer) or rear spring rate to free up the back end — but as tuned here it's been solid across a full 7-stage run.
