to me it always feels totally random. even when driving the same way.

I know for a fact there is more going on than simple 'distance driven = wear', because soon after the game came out I tested a tarmac stage with softs. Full sending and power sliding everywhere I managed to get them to the red 'worn' state after 19km, and restarting I drove in the same conditions but drove quite slow and they didn't even reach the 'yellow' worn stage. I don't know how in depth it is, or how surface conditions play a part on tyre wear but it's more involved than simply distance driven

Front and rear wears separately, not sure if individual wear is calculated. Definetly high abuse increases wear. Not sure how exactly. Seems like the more you slip, lock and slide the more you experience wear. Listen to tyre sounds. Likely the highest volume sounds indicate heavy tyre use that does not produce more grip, so try to keep it below that.

I think there's a correlation between the amount of toe in and toe out... the higher away from zero, the greater the tire wear.

I go by this for now. My assumption is that wear in this game can be close to real life where they can have 80km of stages in a leg +roads-sections. This means at least 2 of tires endure that fully (2spares are possible used some point during 80km leg and used tires become spares etc). - Hards -> aimed for 60 - 80km (37.3 - 50.0mi) - Mediums -> aimed for 42 - 56km (26.1 - 34.80mi) - Softs -> aimed for 30 - 40km (18.6 - 24.9mi) - Super-softs -> aimed for 21 - 28km (13.0 - 17.4mi) - Asphalt Wets -> idk perhaps aimed for 30km (18.6mi) - Winter Tires - idk perhaps aimed for 30km (18.6mi) - Snow Tires(Sweden+Scandia) -> idk perhaps aimed for 60km (37.3mi) but could also be less Then locations have different kind of gravel so abrassiveness can affect durability of the tires massively (even asphalt surfaces tire wear can vary).
