Compromise of all three stage types is needed, but lean more to keeping tarmac times fast, and keeping the car reasonably driveable on the ice patches. Always hit the apex, that way if there's ice, you have space to slide a little wider, without hitting the wall. This doesn't change the handling personality of the car, only helps with the location/surface characteristics.
